Aqualex CD for Lake Malawi cichlids

The CD comes with 592 67x45 mm color pictures about most cichlid species and variants found in the lake, each picture is given an icon symbology with four icons representing aquarium size, nutrition, total length and habitat for the species represented. Many of the species are shown in their natural habitat. Nine more full page pictures show some specially beautiful photographs of species or habitats, rounding a total 601 color photographs.

The CD comes with all the information in the book in digital format, plus much more. Cichlids are grouped in mbuna and not-mbuna and there is a search facility which makes very easy to find any of them. In the CD format you can also find information for each genera, and instead of the icons found in the book, in the CD there is information about characteristics, distribution, habitat, feeding, behavior and reproduction, remarks and a list of known species. There is also additional text information for each of the species, like distribution, habitat, feeding, characteristic, total length, geographical variations, comments, aquarium and behavior and reproduction, plus icons found in the book. The habitat is in many cases represented by a picture, and when available, more than one picture of the species are present, including in many cases pictures of the females.

There are also two lake underwater videos, one for mbunas and one for not mbunas. And for the pictures, you can easily produce a slide show. Two MS-word for windows documents come with the CD; A manual and a list of references.

When I first saw this software I've asked myself what on earth can do this. It says that it can increase your average IQ score up to 40%. I had to make a little research on the web to see if it's true. The software is based on scientific method, the 'back propagation' mechanism (the term is an abbreviation for 'backwards propagation of errors'). This method was developed by the USSR Academy of Sciences about fifty years ago and it was used especially by the Russian secret services.

Today this method is well-known and is widely used in biophysics, psychology and even in artificial neural network modeling.

The software is very easy to use. Just start it and you will see a text running in front of your eyes. You can set up the speed of the running text and you can stop it if you don't understand one word. You will realize that the text is written in a strange way. You can define the words although the letters are not written in the correct order. This text actually stimulates the back propagation mechanism of your brain.

It has been shown that 2 times per day it's enough to train your brain with this software. I cannot guarantee that this software will have some effects on your mind, but there are users that say that it works.

Djivan Gasparyan - Moon Shines At Night.World 1993 EAC Rip Monkey Audio or 192 kbps, mp3.Moon Shines at Night is a rich but simple collection of Middle Eastern songs performed by Djivan Gasparyan on the duduk (a reed-like Egyptian clarinet) with two supporting musicians. The structure for most of these songs is similar in nature, with the duduk soloing over the accompanying 'drone' or foundation. Frequent Eno collaborator and guitar pioneer Michael Brook takes production credit for this release, doing a sort of Peter Gabriel-style nod to world music.Brook does exactly the right thing by providing the right acoustical setting and not much else (reminiscent of the wonderful ECM producer Manfred Eicher). Gasparyan's playing produces an equal amount of sadness and sweetness in every note, every phrase, and every song. 'Sayat Nova' is especially forlorn, repeating a phrase of heavy sighs and burdened shoulders, and the ten-minute 'Apricot Tree' is a contemplative pilgrimage through the desert at night. For a surprisingly subtle variation,Gasparyan substitutes vocals rather than his duduk on two tracks ('7th December 1988' and 'Mother of Mine'); his vocal style is so similar to his playing that it's easy to blur the two in the ears. 'Tonight' further breaks the mold by doubling up on the duduk (presumably with a studio overdub), and the harmonies are lovely to behold. Uninitiated ears may take a stronger liking to this one in particular (all three minutes of it), since it follows more Western parameters. It is unfortunate that the three other musicians aren't given credit for any particulars; there is a legitimate degree of it due here, owed in equal parts to Khandvat Tuner, Me Lotzazrue Intz, and Do Noritz Ekeles. These three take turns being the foundation that Gasparyan floats over so beautifully. Although Brook has less to do, his presence carries weight. This makes a noteworthy example of world music without being flamboyant or overly exotic. Simply graceful.

Three children--Fly, Chuck and Stella--are on a clandestine fishing trip, when they stumble upon a mad professor whose potion transforms humans into fish. Stella innocently drinks the liquid, becomes a starfish and is thrown into the ocean. In an attempt to save her, the boys follow suit with Fly changing into a Californian flyfish and Chuck into a jellyfish. The antidote falls into the hands (or fins!) of a pilot fish, Joe, who drinks it and acquires human intelligence, the power of speech, a tyrannical desire for world control and a following of militant crabs. The threesome has 48 hours to retrieve the antidote, or they will remain fish forever.Traditional hand-drawn cartoons are interspersed with more modern computerised animations. The variety of life underwater is beautifully portrayed, adding greatly to the colour and interest of the film. There are several key themes including the importance of intelligence, determination and friends and of being kind to animals and respecting the environment.
